Collins | Family Session | Lewes, Delaware Beach Photographer

I can’t quite pinpoint when + where I met the Collins family first, but it had to be when I captured Alaena’s youngest sister’s senior portraits or at her other sister’s wedding.  I’m thinking it was the latter, but whatever it was, the Kollock + Collins families have always made me feel as if I was part of their own.  Their kindness + warmth overflows + I feel blessed to know them both.  Lisa, Alaena’s lovely Mother, purchased a gift certificate last Christmas for Alaena + her family.  I loved that Alaena wanted to use her parents’ property in Lewes for the first part of their session + then use Cape Henlopen State Park for the second part.  Since the family love the beach, it was the perfect backdrop for their family portraits.  The best part of the session for me was when I told the boys that I wanted them to jump into the tide pool along the edge of the bay.  You should’ve seen their faces.  They were like, “What?!  Did this crazy photographer just tell us to jump into a giant puddle when we were supposed to be getting pictures taken!?”  We couldn’t even count how many times these boys jumped into that water.  It made for such a memorable evening + I think every summer session should end exactly the same way….except maybe having all of us do it (minus the photography equipment). 🙂
